My domain shopping splurge

I have been rushed off my feet recently with deadline, design, exams and unfortunately drama. What I have done is made head way with severely of my project when I have had the time. The first of which is a big one for me,

DoodleBite Creative Studios (DoodleBite CS) [News]

DoodleBite is my developing creative studio devoted to design and the quality and ethical work that it includes. In preparation for this I when and purchased some goodies to help the project along with the new domain of doodlebite.com (previously unavailable when I registered doodlebite.net). I have been working be hind the curtains to try and make this as amazingly to look at and also provide a steady bace on which to develop on the years to come. I also have made some decoctions and have decided that LCN will be my supported domain company. My interaction with LCN (or Telvo as it was once called) have been my domain provider for many years now and I am proud to recommend them as reliable, creative and trustworthy company. It may not be as largely known as some of them but don't be fooled, when I last registered a domain 20th May 2011 they were serving over 737,000 assuming I interpreted there URL system correctly. .... read more »

Michael-Humphries.co.uk

The new website for Michael Humphries to co-inside with his lead role as "Peter" in the Gordon Craig Theatre's musical production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

This site has been designed as a replacement for his previous site PuppetBoy (http://puppetboy.co.uk) as it was proving to have too many options that discouraged him from updating it. This new one works from the design brief that it must be

Easy to update, Look Professional, Be adaptable and updated/powered through Facebook, Be fully socially linked.

As such this site has an array of functions, these include; .... read more »

BlueWash & SunSand- Wateringbury Church's New Website

For some time now I have been working on a new look and system for St John the Baptist Church in Wateringbury, Kent. Today the new site final goes live after a long number of months work by many people. The over all finish is nice and I did find it extremely challenging to find a style that I felt worked for the church. I have personally visited this church before and have found it to be a fantastic place, even if you are not religious like myself, it is well worth a look if you are ever near there.

It was hard to find a feel of what the site should look like, my previous designs had all been far too modern and since this church has so much character I wanted to work that in to the design. I first had a go and drawing up ideas almost a year and a half ago. I came up with these ideas below.

Nether of these would work however as they only had minimal updating ability and more control was needed. So I started to work on a Wordpress powered site for them. This would allow for a much more controlled site and providing function as well as looks for the site. My first attempt I wanted to work with warm creams and add more of a glow to the over all feel to the site. .... read more »

My new project and my new flagship website. Content to come.

Now I know that this has been a long time coming however I'm really excited about some new work that I have been doing on it. The main part of the site has been putting in the infrastructure and more impotently for me, the design and feel of the site. DoodleBite will offer a range of services and as is the spirit of the world and how it should be, some free-bees to :D

Gallery comes to Coda

I have just finished playing around with a Gallery2 and Drupal integration that is now live on http://coda.org.uk/gallery with some nice functions all packed it. The main ones are (but fairly standard),

  • Commenting
  • Rating
  • Uploading (for Coda Staff)
  • On site editing
  • Mass Upload
  • Auto resize
  • Gallery Remote
  • Watermarking with a customized design

and as a separate installation it only added a fraction of weight on to the Drupal footprint.

Welcome to Grid7

So I have been waiting up for my brother to come back home and I had a free moment. I have yet to finalize the logo, I have the design drawn down on my note pad but this was a quick mock up.

I also redirected GridSeven.co.uk to the main site having decided that the numeric version was the one I would work with primarily out if the 2. I hope to get the first base to the design in testing very soon.

This is the front page description that I posted, I think for a first draft it sums it up well.

Welcome to Grid7, we are under construction at the moment however here is a little about us. Grid7 is a project based upon the idea of improving the quality of the interned and the experience of its users. Todays net is fragmented but social network sites integrating there logins as well as central knowledge in the forms of wikis are both grate concepts. So hears a thought, lets take the detail of information down a knock and pick quality content, so not only to provide a place to publish but to link, a gateway so to speak. Grid7 intends to start to bring back quality to the net.

If your reading this and think that this sounds grate and would like to be a part of it then we would welcome your support, suggestions or any help you can give. Additionally we plan to work with charities both large but primarily small, never to take away form others, but just to help give a voice. Feel free to contact us contact [at] grid7.co.uk

Project 7 is a go

Project 7 is now a go with the registration of 2 new domains, Grid7.co.uk and GridSeven.co.uk marks a more formal project for me. I have also started a side project code-named Warden. Just added them to My Websites list.

A Study of Words

The written word has been around for many a year, and will go on for many more I have now doubt but the power of these tiny little things, no matter how small or insufficient or even the ones we miss out I'm sure we have all found them to be so in our lives. Words can create art, stir feelings, elaborate ideas, postulate belive and dictate actions and yet so many of us can forget them. My self being dyslexic and wholly relent on the aid of a spell checker (and Google when this fails to make make since of my ramblings) to insure that my authoring are ineligible have not always seen eye to eye with them so this is dedicated to the humble word/s (depending on your situation) so it would seem apropret to play with them before I continue.

Not to go off on too much of a tangent however I also found the following very good to watch, even if they don't all make scene, there at the end of the post as to prevent the accumulation of mess (of just click here). .... read more »
