A Study of Words

The written word has been around for many a year, and will go on for many more I have now doubt but the power of these tiny little things, no matter how small or insufficient or even the ones we miss out I'm sure we have all found them to be so in our lives. Words can create art, stir feelings, elaborate ideas, postulate belive and dictate actions and yet so many of us can forget them. My self being dyslexic and wholly relent on the aid of a spell checker (and Google when this fails to make make since of my ramblings) to insure that my authoring are ineligible have not always seen eye to eye with them so this is dedicated to the humble word/s (depending on your situation) so it would seem apropret to play with them before I continue.

Not to go off on too much of a tangent however I also found the following very good to watch, even if they don't all make scene, there at the end of the post as to prevent the accumulation of mess (of just click here).

So I have been watching a series called "Any Human Hart" and have found it to be extraordinary addictive. It is the dramatization of a book published in 2002 by the Scottish writer William Boyd who had the rare, in my mind, opportunity to restructure it for broadcast. It follows the writer character of Logan Mountstuart on his 4 part travel through life, where he is ether driven by lust or his own past. I shale abstained form elaborating to prevent any spoilers to those who may want to watch this or even better read the book (or both) but it is a truly wonderful piece of writing and one worth in turn writing about. I very much enjoyed one scene and line in which is said;

and what kind of man are your? Well I'm an old fashan S & M man

well it may not be word perfect but I like the fact that if you were to switch the S & M to gain the shop name of M&S you would completely kill the drama, another reminder of how words really can flip any end every situation, letting them crumble as if they were merely sand on a moon lit beach.

Now I have had my share of poorly chosen words, hell I don't think I know a single person who hasn't but that is beside the point, with the communication in the complete opposite of what I meant to convey. I have embraced the Internet along with most of my generation and so IM (or Instant Messaging for those who tire so of all the endless acronyms) is one of my pet hates, communication both enhanced and yet still robed of its meaning somehow. I also know that "emotions" can help combat this, all fin and fell, until you get the problem of "sarcasm" in type so I am much more a fan of Skype then MSN (or Live Messenger as is technical called).

I'm currently engrossed in the autobiography by Steven Fry (technical his 2nd chapter to this), perhaps you know of him, if not you should be ashamed of yourself and go look, Google it now if you don't know, I'm not kidding! He is a truly fantastic individual and is one of the few celebrity who have earn there place so very solidly though qualities that showcase the best of what humanity can archive. I have found that the way we interpret words can also vary on the imagined reader. When you read a book, do you hear yourself or the authors voice?

Words create excitement so very easily to, talking to someone can make or break a day but as is the way of the world. One of the things that made today a Good day, ignoring the headache and ill feeling lingering from yesterdays illness, was the forecast for Saturday 18th where I will be receiving 10 inches of snow. Fantastic on the point of Photography and snow in general, not so much as I have work all that day and it makes meeting up with my Dad more hazards with ice hugging the pavement and roads. That reminds me, I have to tell you about my new job. I am currently employed by Staples in there Business Management section and for those, who like myself until this had no idea of the the different departments, covers IT equipment form PC's to USB's, shredders, printers, ink my goodness a lot of that to make it a truly close "one stop shop" for printers, we also cover printers, software and many other things like furnisher. This is a story for another time and all I will say now is that so far everyone there have been really welcoming and friendly. I would like to say thanks so very much to Sammy for showing me the ropes on the first day and as such quelling my nerves considerably. I the in-tranning now kid, sticker and all :P

OW and one last thing I would recommend for your reading is this post form Gizmodo on WiFi and our social power quest, a password makes anyone feel powerful sometimes, even people who we will call Steve.
